Alhadji, in the context of this song means “man of status and pride“. It is a concept that was designed to bring many cultures together. A funky hip hop beat, the use of English, Pidgin English, French and some Yoruba combined different people.
Naomi wrote the song “Alhadji” during her international travels in late 2010. The concept started in the United States when several of her fans and producers asked Naomi to write a song in Pidgin English so they could connect with her even more. This song was written by Naomi Achu and Produced by Emil Molindo Ngumbah, CEO and Producer at M1 Studio, Buea, Cameroon. Backup vocals were done by Abigail Doh and Naomi herself. The final mixing and sound engineering was done at Dream Recording Studio with Walta Blackson in Maryland. Since then, it has been a viral hit!
