Several Nigerian entertainers have confirmed their attendance at a 2-hour walk with Emma Ugolee to create increased awareness about kidney disease, which will be taking place this morning, Saturday, 21st March.
The walk was initiated by the entertaining circle in solidarity with former broadcaster, Emmanuel Ugolee who is currently battling kidney failure. The former broadcaster has been battling with severe kidney disease for the past 3 years.
Among the stars that have confirmed their attendance for the scheduled walk on the streets of Victoria Island, Lagos are 2Face, Peter Okoye, Desmond Elliot, Julius Agwu, Basketmouth, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde,Timaya, Monalisa Chinda, Emma Ugolee (the spouse of Emmanuel) and several others.
According to Emmanuel, the walk is not an intent to collect donation for his medical treatment but to make the public more aware of this chronic disease. It also serves to help educate the public on this often fatal disease and to dispel any misconception arising from this medical condition.
A consulting nephrologist will be on hand at the event to answer questions from the concerning public about kidney disease.
End stage renal failure can only be rectified by dialysis or kidney transplant.
