A senior police officer, Superintendent Chris Eza was shot dead by his subordinate last Thursday, 26th of February after he reprimanded him for inappropriate dressing.
Chris Eza was the former aide to the State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan. According to the facts of the homicide, Eza was returning from an eatery along Ahmadu Bello way and met this junior officer and immediately cautioned him on his dressing, which was deemed improper for a police officer. The junior officer with the rank of a corporal took offence and started to argue with him. At the heat of the argument, he took out his rife and shot superintendent Chris after the senior officer threaten to disarm him.
Other police officer at the scene took Superintendent Chis to the Abubakar Tafewa Balewa Teaching Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The case is still under investigation.
