Ndileka launched this new foundation in honor of her father, Madiba “Thembekile”, Nelson Mandela’s eldest son, who died in a car accident in 1969.
In this exclusive interview, she speaks candidly about domestic violence, women empowerment, and several other issues affecting womanhood and equality. The interview took place during the African iXchange at the Marriot West loop by the Galleria in Houston while she was featuring as a guest keynote speaker at the Pan African Women Economic Empowerment Summit in Houston, Texas.
While discussing why some women might be stuck in a relationship that is not healthy for them, she mentioned a few interesting points:
“I’ve learnt now that mind-blowing sex is not what makes a good relationship..”
“Usually, Men that are the Casanova’s in bed.. They are rubbish men,”
and when asked why do South African’s want Nigerians’ out of their country.. she said:
“It bothers me that South African’s are Xenophobic.. It was not mainly actually towards Nigerian a such, because they’re scared of Nigerians”
“The people they targeted were mainly Somalis’..”
She also mentioned that one of the main issues South Africans had with Nigerians in SA is that they take their women, as South African men had previously lamented!:
“it’s mainly because you (Nigerians) come and take their women”
ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE – WATCH!!
In the full interview, while talking about women submitting to men, here are some of our favorites quotes from what she said.
As a wife or partner “I’m willing to submit, as long as my husband or partner would understand that submissive does not mean subservient.”
