USA Today announces that former Virginia Senator and Vietnam veteran Jim Webb has launched his US presidential bid, joining other Democrats taking on front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Webb, 69, who represented Virginia from 2007 to 2012, said the US needs “positive, visionary leadership” and announced the decision on his campaign website Thursday.
“After many months of thought, deliberation and discussion, I have decided to seek the office of the Presidency of the United States,” he wrote.
