Boko Haram members reportedly killed 11 of its members in Biu local government area of Borno state after the members reportedly fled from one of its camps near the area, according to Sahara Reporters. The jihadist then sent about 20 fighters to pursue the fleeing members and caught up with them in the village as they waited to surrender to government forces.
Villagers told the news outlet that the militants assembled the re-captured members and slit their throats in the presence of horrified villagers and then left their bodies in the village.
“The truth is that many of these guys are tired of killing and are beginning to repent. But [Boko Haram] won’t let them do that,” he added.
In another report, two female suicide bombers on Thursday also killed 11 people on a roadside in Borno state, according to Sahara Reporters as well. The Thursday killings happened following the initial massacre of about 150 people in Borno villages a few days ago. Click here if you missed it!
