Josephine Prebor emerged the winner of this year’s Miss Niger Delta Diaspora beauty pageant. The beauty queen is a post-graduate student at the University of East London majoring in Biotechnology and Management. She also earned her first degree in Bio-medical Technology.
The crop of beauty queens around the world continues to get better in terms of their academic credentials, much in reality with the higher social-economic and overall higher educational attainments of the contestants and also the accessibility to better education and tech-savvy audiences around the world.
The recently concluded Miss World winner held in London Excel IVV Auditorium on December 14 last year was Rolene Strauss, a 4th year medical student. Both her parents are medical practitioners too. The Miss World 2014 event was the 1st to be streamed via mobile devices, tablets and game consoles using the Miss World apps which set it apart from previous contests and added an element of high-tech to this event.
Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri also holds a B. Science degree in Brain, Behavior and Cognitive Sciences.
